Springtime and the brunchins’ easy

Springtime and the brunchins’ easy

It’s the first weekend of spring and you are in the mood for a springtime brunch soiree. And by brunch, we mean sipping away your favorite sparkling and white wines with some delicious and seasonal mid-morning fare. Grab your friends and let the fun begin with our fave brunch & vino pairings.

Clementine, honey yogurt & granola parfait + Windsor Brut Sparkling

Fruit & yogurt parfait

It’s not a brunch without a festive glass— or three— of sparkling wine.  Pop the cork on a bottle of Windsor Brut sparkling and toast the morning with a Clementine, honey yogurt and granola parfait.  Liven up the yogurt with a sprinkling of cinnamon or nutmeg, or add some lavender to your granola. Sparkling wine is so versatile, it will complement most add-ins that you desire.

Savory herb & cheddar waffles + 2014 Clos Pegase Chardonnay

Savory Herb & Cheese Waffles

Waffles with sugary fruit compotes certainly have a time and a place, but not at this brunchtime affair.  Toss some savory herbs and sharp cheddar into your waffle batter and enjoy with a mouthwatering glass of creamy yet zingy Mitsuko’s Chardonnay.  And if you are feeling frisky, go ahead and drizzle with maple syrup— the sweet and savory combo will keep you questioning why you hadn’t been enjoying waffles like this all along.

Huevos Rancheros Verdes & 2016 Swanson Pinot GrigioHuevos Rancheros Verdes

Mix up the traditional red sauce and opt for a zesty salsa verde and with a citrus-driven and melony Pinot Grigio from Swanson Vineyards. While this wine is completely dry, the round mouthfeel makes it a good pair to some subtle spice. Sprinkle some cumin on the top of your dish for an extra match made in heaven.

Remember, there’s no wrong way to do brunch…and when in doubt, just set up a sweet mimosa bar to get the party started.
