DIY: Homemade Truffles

Beautiful to look at and even more luxurious to eat, the chocolate truffle is surely one of the most decadent treats out there. Using your favorite flavor combinations, follow our guide to create delightfully easy homemade truffles!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cream
  • 10 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. infusion ingredient – vanilla bean, orange zest, fresh mint, ginger, cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp. add-in ingredient – instant espresso, chile powder, curry powder, amaretto
  • coatings of choice – toasted coconut, chopped nuts, cocoa powder

Directions:

Step 1: Infuse your cream: Bring a small saucepan to medium-high heat; add ½ cup of heavy cream
and infusion ingredient of your choice. Stir frequently, until the cream begins to boil. Remove from
heat, cover and let rest for 1 hour. Strain the infusion ingredient from the cream if necessary and return
cream mix back to pan.

Step 2: Melt your chocolate with add-ins: Over medium-high heat, bring cream back to a boil and
pour in the chocolate. Choose your add-ins to melt with the chocolate for added flavor and whisk until
smooth.

Step 3: Chill & form the ganache: Transfer the ganache to medium glass bowl, cover and refrigerate
for 2 hours, or until firm. Using a spoon, scoop heaping teaspoons of ganache onto a parchment lined
baking sheet. Use your palms to roll them into smooth 1- inch balls.

Step 4: Coat your truffle: Place desired coatings in a shallow bowl. Roll the chocolate balls in the
coatings, pressing in and covering completely. Chill until set, about 30 minutes. Enjoy!
